Happy Chanukah, my friends!
Here’s the closing scene in The Olive Conspiracy, on the first night of Chanukah. Chef Yael and her waitress Halleli light the candles after closing up for the night, with Queen Shulamit sharing the moment because she stopped by to honor Yael for the part she played in protecting the country’s agriculture.
It will take the farms time to recover, but eventually, like in the story of Chanukah itself, there will be enough oil again.
The Olive Conspiracy is a Jewish fantasy novel about queer women (and one token dude, who is also a lizard) saving their land from an international plot to mess up their crops. PDF is $4; also available on Amazon/paperback. Shulamit and Halleli are both femme cis lesbians and Yael is bi and trans.
